#7yearsofSOTY: Karan Johar shares a heart-warming post and thanks his three children - Alia, Varun and Sidharth for a memorable film

Karan Johar is known as a launch machine for talents in Bollywood. Around 7 years ago, Karan had launched three of the now talented actors - Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra with a coming-of-age romantic drama, Student of the Year. Released in 2012 on this day, the movie opened in across 1400 locations all over India. Student of the Year was one of the highest-grossing films of 2012. Sid, Alia, and Varun's career took off after that and over seven years, they have appeared in numerous films.

Today, on the 7th anniversary of Student of the Year's release, Karan Johar shared a heart-warming message on his Instagram handle. Sharing a small teaser of the film's 7-year celebration on his social handle, Karan wrote, "7 years ago I made a film and a family.....a family I can proudly call my own... I look back at SOTY with abundant love in my heart..."

Karan went on to thank his three children beginning with Alia Bhatt. He wrote, "thank you @aliaabhatt for being my daughter ...for your infectious love and your large heart..for just being YOU!"

Next, he thanked Varun Dhawan and wrote, "thank you @varundvn for being there for me always ...for having my back and calling me at odd hours to tell me what "not to do"...for your pure heart...I love you!"

He thanked Sidharth Malhotra next and wrote, "Thank you @sidmalhotra for your compassion and sensitivity for also being the silent strong energy in my life....for giving me a shoulder whenever I needed a good cry! Talking about the film, Student of the Year was produced by Dharma Productions along with Red Chillies Entertainment, that is, Karan Johar had collaborated with Gauri Khan to bring for an entertainer for all. Apart from the three actors, Student of the year also starred Sana Saeed, Kayoze Irani, Rishi Kapoor, Sahil Anand, Manasi Rachh, Manjot Singh, Ronit Roy, Ram Kapoor, Gautami Kapoor, Farida Jalal, Akshay Anand, Manini Mishra, Prachi Shah, Nandini Sen, Boman Irani, Farah Khan, Vaibhavi Merchant, and Kajol as well.
