Akshay Kumar's Housefull 4 takes a lead over Thalapathy Vijay's Bigil at the box office

Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh starrer Housefull 4 took a good start remained steady in its opening weekend considering a pre-Diwali phase. On the other hand, Thalapathy Vijay's received a thunderous response opened much bigger than the Akshay Kumar starrer across the country. But in the last two days, which had national Diwali holidays, the business of the reincarnation comedy witnessed a massive growth compared to Bigil and as a result, Housefull 4 took a lead over the Thalapathy Vijay's sports drama to grab the top spot as the Diwali release of 2019. Housefull 4 has raked in around Rs 112 crore in its first 5 days at the ticket windows.

Apart from Akshay and Riteish, Housefull 4 also stars Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hegde and Kriti Kharbanda in key roles. Bobby Deol, who was featured in Race 3, which was also a multi-starrer says that he doesn't have any fear of getting overshadowed. "The question of being overshadowed is something I really don't look in to. All I can say is it was great to be a part of these franchises because a lot of people go to see these films, and millions of people will be there watching. I will get a chance to be seen by all of them. So, for me, who has just restarted his career, it is a great opportunity to get noticed by the young generation that has not really seen my work as much as the older generation has," he said.
