Housefull 4 BEATS Kabir Singh and Mission Mangal to become third-highest opening week grosser of 2019

Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh and Bobby Deol's Housefull 4 has ended its opening week on a winning note at the box office. Despite clashing with Taapsee Pannu-Bhumi Pednekar's Saand Ki Aankh and Rajkummar Rao-Mouni Roy's Made In China, the reincarnation comedy remained the first choice for the cine-goers and earned huge numbers on Diwali holidays. It collected around Rs 142 crore in its opening week and has emerged as the third-highest opening week grosser of the year after Hrithik Roshan-Tiger Shroff's War and Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif's Bharat.

Housefull 4: Rs 142 crore*

Kabir Singh: Rs 134.42 crore

Mission Mangal: Rs 128.16 crore [extended; 8 days]

Kesari: Rs 105.86 crore [extended; 8 days]

Gully Boy: Rs 100.30 crore [extended; 8 days]

Total Dhamaal: Rs 94.55 crore

Saaho: Rs 79.08 crore

Super 30: Rs 75.85 crore

Since there is no big competition for the film, it will again witness a good growth over the weekend at the ticket windows. It has already emerged as the highest grosser in the Housefull franchise and is set to enter in the list of top grossers of 2019.

Directed by Entertainment helmer Farhad Samji, Housefull 4 is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala along with Fox Star Studios. It also stars Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hegde, Kriti Kharbanda, Chunky Panday, Johny Lever, Rana Daggubati and Sharad Kelkar in key roles. Talking about the reviews, our critic Pankaj Sabnani gave the film 2 stars and wrote, "Housefull 4 had the potential to be a lot better, but with only a few good and funny moments, it turns out to be average at best.
