Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan call it quits on their rumored relationship

They never made it official, but neither did Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan make a concerted effort to conceal their closeness to each other from prying eyes, their rumored romance having begun on the sets of Director Imtiaz Ali's Aaj Kal.

From Sara spending almost three weeks on the Lucknow sets of Kartik's Pati Patni Aur Woh and then whisking her alleged beau away for a quick visit to her ancestral home in Pataudi to Kartik spending quality time with Sara's brother, while his ladylove walked down the ramp to the couple spotted holding hands while exiting restaurants they've never shied away from wagging tongues, so much so that many of us had our fingers crossed for another real-life Bollywood romance.

However, as per a report in Mumbai Mirror, the couple now seem to have called it quits on their whirlwind romance, and no, the reason isn't because they've become incompatible or facing any other personal issues. It's their professional lives that have thrown a wrench in their love story. The fact of the matter is that both Kartik and Sara are extremely busy in their careers and both are taking rapid strides in the industry and despite their earnest efforts, neither can squeeze in quality time for the other between their hectic schedule at least not enough to make a relationship meaningful, is what they feel.

For now, they've parted way amicably, leaving scores of their fans, who were rooting for the two, sorely disappointed. On the work front Kartik is looking forward to the release of Pati Patni Aur Woh, costarring Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday, beside being occupied with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Dostana 2.
