Filmy Friday: Ahead of Marjaavaan, here are 5 films that impressed with masaledaar dialogues

Today is the day when Sidharth Malhotra, Tara Sutaria, Riteish Deshmukh and Rakul Preet Singh starrer releases in theatres near you. As soon as the makers had announced the name of the movie, we excepted a cliched love story as our fears were realised when the makers dropped the first look/poster of the film. The intriguing factor was the vertically challenged lead antagonist, Riteish Deshmukh. But as soon as the teaser and the trailer were out, we were whistling throughout the video.

Quite unexpected, Marjaavaan turned out to be a total massy and masaledaar action romance film. Both Sidharth and Riteish's dialogues are so entertaining and engaging that you wish to go back and watch the trailer, again and again, and again. Well, Marjaavaan's not the first though. Ahead of Marjaavaan's release, let's have a look at other massy and masaledaar entertainers that had such whistle-worthy dialogues which made you jump in your seats in excitement and say it aloud to impress peeps.

Sholay

"Arre, Oh, Sambha, kitney aadmi they?", "Basanti, inn kutton ke saamne mat nachna", "Ye haath humko de de Thakur", "Jo darr gaya, samjho marr gaya", and many more. Sholay had the most amazing dialogues thanks to Javed Akhtar. Which is your favourite Sholay dialogue?

Agneepath

This list is incomplete without mentioning Amitabh Bachchan starrer Agneepath. The dialogues were written by Santosh Saroj and Kader Khan, apart from the poem which was penned by Big B's father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan. The dialogues in the baritone voice of Amitabh Bachchan is being mimicked and imitated by many across generations. Be it his introductory dialogue or the likes of "Tu na thakega kabhi, tu na rukega kabhi, tu na mudega kabhi" or "Iss duniya me tarakki karne ke liye na bolna bahut zaroori hai" to name a few, which were also very popular.

Dabangg

Salman Khan's dialogues in Dabangg were a huge hit. And the credit of the same goes to Dilip Shukla and Abhinav Kashyap. You would remember, "Hum tum me itne chhed kar denge, ki confuse ho jaoge ki saans kaha se le, aur paadien kahan se", "Swagat nahi karoge humara?", and the epic one, "Thappad se darr nahi lagta saab, pyaar se lagta hai". There were many more. Which one do you like?

Damini

"Taarikh pe Taarikh", "Yeh dhai kilo ka haath jab kisi pe padta hai, to aadmi uthta nahi, uth jata hai" and more. Rajkumar Santoshi's dialogues are hard hitting yet entertaining. Both Meenakshi Sheshadri and Sunny Deol were lauded for their performance in Damini.

Singham

Singham's dialogues which include "Meri zarooratein kam hai, isliye mere zameer me dum hai", "Kutton ka jhund kitna bhi bada ho, uske liye ek sher hi kaafi hai", "Aali re Aali... aata tujhi baari aali" were written by Sajid-Farhad.
