Happy Birthday Krish Jagarlamudi: 5 times the Director presented his lead actor as the ultimate hero

Krish Jagarlamudi is a filmmaker who's seen incredible highs and crushing lows in over a decade-long career. From huge critical acclaim, stunning box-office success, and Nandi, Filmfare, and National awards to his films being panned by reviewers, fizzling out at cinema halls, and facing creative differences with his actors the Director has seen more than what others witness through their entire careers. However, what remains steadfast is his ability to carve big, powerful scenes for his protagonists, especially when the movie hits the bullseye because when Krish gets it right...boy, does he get it right.

Today being the Director's birthday, we decided to take a trip down memory and revisit 5 of the most powerful scenes helmed by him, where his lead actor was presented with guts, glory, and no-holds-barred heroism:

1.) Akshay Kumar's hospital scene in Gabbar is Back (2015)

Top of the list has to be the Khiladi's expose of the unholy nexus of corruption and medical malpractice in this 5-star hospital. It wasn't only hard-hitting, but also extremely topical in today's times of several real-life reports of medical ethics coming into question.

2.) Kangana Ranaut first battle with British soldiers in Manikarnika (2019)

From assuming the throne to instilling valor in her army to chopping down British soldiers like mincemeat Kangana's first battle scene and the lead up to it in Manikarnika was cinematic heroism at its finest.

3.) Nandamuri Balakrishna challenging his enemy on the battlefield in Gautamiputra Satakarni (2017)

Bala not only made his opposite number shiver on the battlefield in this scene with his powerful dialogues alone, but also did so with his son riding pillion on the horse with him how cool is that.

4.) Varun Tej annihilating Nazi soldiers with his British squadron in Kanche (2015)

It was a top-secret mission, crucial to the plot of the film, and Krish made sure that his hero navigated it with all the grit and bravery essential for it to leave an indelible impression on the audience's psyche.
