Pagalpanti box office collection day 3 early estimates: John Abraham-Anil Kapoor's film has a low weekend

After having a low opening day, filmmaker Anees Bazmee's failed to show a massive jump over the weekend. The comic caper raked in Rs 19.50 crore in its first three days and the collections are way below expectations looking at the huge ensemble star cast, which comprises of John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Ileana D'Cruz, Pulkit Samrat, Kriti Kharbanda and Urvashi Rautela. Looking at the current scenario, we are expecting the film to end its theatrical run around Rs 30 crore, which will indeed make Pagalpanti a disappointing affair at the box office.

Director Aneez Bazmee, who is known for making comedy films like Welcome, Mubarakan and No Entry, earlier said, "I want my films to make people laugh and be happy. Life is short. In your old age, when you look back, you will mostly remember the happy moments. Today, people are under a lot of stress, be it in career, source of income, taking care of kids' education or weddings. There are so many reasons to worry that people are gradually forgetting to smile. I want to give people a few moments of laughter through my films. I was in a happy space of mind while writing the film. I believe, whenever a person is in a sad mood, my film should lift their spirit."

The film has garnered negative reviews from the cinema experts. Our critic Russel D'Silva gave the film 1 star and wrote, "There's a lot of laughter on offer while watching Pagalpanti. It's just that you'll be laughing at the film rather than with it, and we don't think that was the intention of the makers. There's a silver lining though: Movies like Pagalpanti are perfect recipes to achieve cult status in later years as they perfectly fit in the so-bad-that-it's-good mould."
