Week That Was SOUTH: From Vijay Deverakonda's Bollywood debut to the first track of Rajinikanth's Darbar — here's what made news
It's been quite a week down South. With movie release announcements, first tracks, and Arjun Reddy under the scanner again, here's what made news this week:
Vijay Deverakonda on his Bollywood debut
Vijay Deverakonda was one of the prime guests at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), held in Goa. Much has already been speculated about the actor's Bollywood debut and while interacting with the attendees there, Vijay, finally, gave us a hint of his Bollywood debut. "You will get love with drama and action. No thriller as it will become a khichdi. I'll make it soon."

Parvathy criticises Vijay's Arjun Reddy
A roundtable conference was held by an entertainment portal that was attended by Vijay Deverakonda, Parvathy Thirovothu, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Manoj Bajpayee and Vijay Sethupathi. When a discussion of dark-themed films popped up, the topic of Vijay's Arjun Reddy and Shahid Kapoor's Kabir Singh arose. Parvathy went on to critise Arjun Reddy, saying, "We can watch a tragedy and leave it there without being inspired to follow it. If you say that there is no passion in a relationship without slapping each other, and I see comments on YouTube where people are resonating and engaging with a wrong thing in a massive mob-like manner, you are inciting violence." Well, it has been quite a long time since the movie released, but with its remake, Kabir Singh, making waves, the hype increased tenfold and poor Deverakonda is still reeling with its effects.
Athade Srimannarayana trailer
Rakshit Shetty action-comedy, Athade Srimannarayana's trailer, dropped on Thursday. It's an unusual trailer that is likely to intrigue the audience and make them visit the theatres to watch the film. In case you missed it, here's the trailer:
