The year 2019 is coming to an end. It has been quite a year for Indian Television overall. We have seen some underrated shows springing a surprise on the TRP charts. Yeh Jaadu Hai Jinn Ka, Chhoti Sardarni, Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum won over the audience. The whole year has been a very successful season for reality shows as well. From Super Dancer to Bigg Boss 13 and Nach Baliye 9, they managed to make a mark in the mind of audiences. In fact, many of them fared better than daily soaps. Here is a look at the reality shows that left us impressed in 2019...
Bigg Boss 13
This season of Bigg Boss 13 will be written in the history books. The height of aggression, instigation, grudge, and abuse seen in this season of Bigg Boss will go down in history books. Of course, there was Sidharth Shukla who displayed his good, bad and ugly side with total lack of inhibitions. Whether it is the brutal fight between Asim Riaz and Sidharth Shukla or the verbal slug-fest of Rashami Desai and Sidharth, this season is a spiteful one.
Super Dancer
The kids' dance reality show hardly went out of the top five in the TRP charts. Judges, celebs and the audience was left surprised at the talent on display. The children proved they could give anyone a run for their money with their skills.
Nach Baliye 9
Salman Khan stepped in as the producer of Nach Baliye 9 and the show was expected to be in the news. The highlight of the show was the presence of ex-couples like Vishal Aditya Singh - Madhurima Tuli, Urvashi Dholakia - Anuj Sachdeva and Aly Goni - Natasa Stankovic. There was a lot of drama on the show courtesy Vishal and Madhurima. The opening episode got good TRPs and it was far more successful than Nach Baliye 8.
Indian Idol
The singing reality show has been a successful property for Sony TV for a long time now. This season also got off to a great start TRP wise. It has slowed down since then but the quality of singers is impressive. Indian Idol also made news as it had Anu Malik as the judge. The composer was removed as the issue of his being under the scanner of #MeToo allegations was brought up again.
Dance Plus 5
Remo D'Souza's dance reality show is a huge hit with the masses. The talent on the show is phenomenal. This time, we also have foreign talent as visiting guests on the show. The TRPs are always above 2 and it is a huge success.
