'Actors have been asked to leave the county and I don't think that's fair,' says Chhapaak 's Deepika Padukone on actors not opining on CAB (Exclusive)

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is returning to the big screen after a long hiatus. With Chhapaak, Deepika debuts as a producer. "It depends on the kind of content that comes my way and what I feel like doing that time," says Deepika Padukone during an exclusive conversation with BollywoodLife, when asked if this is the kind of cinema she would like to continue in the coming years. The film is so close to Deepika, that during the trailer launch, DP couldn't control her tears. "It's the impact that the trailer had on me," Deepika talks about the event. "The journey that I had with this film, the responsibility that I'm carrying of portraying a real-life character I'm playing in the film," DP reasons her getting emotional.

We asked the actress if her hubby and actor Ranveer Singh has seen the movie yet, because it's hard for us to not ask her questions about the livewire. "No, he hasn't seen the film," she says, "He gets no special treatment. He'll watch the movie when everyone else watches it." Deepika reveals "it's the same" for herself as even she doesn't get to watch his films before anyone else. "We don't show each other our films," she shares.

Recently, the country is going through an uproar with the anti-CAB movement. We asked Deepika about Bollywood remaining shut about the entire controversy. "As an individual, people have a point of view. Some people want to express it and some don't," she says. Deepika also questions, "Are people willing to respect the opinion of an actor?" Talking about the trolling and bashing, Deepika mentions, "I don't think we are respectful of other people's opinions. I think we like people to conform." On the same she also adds, "Actors have been asked to leave the county and I don't think that's fair."

Meghna Gulzar's directorial Chhapaak releases in theatres on January 10.
