Amitabh Bachchan pens a gut-wrenching note to mourn the loss of Shweta Bachchan Nanda's mother-in-law, Ritu Nanda

Amitabh Bachchan's daughter Shweta Bachchan's mother-in-law and late Raj Kapoor's daughter, Ritu Nanda, left for a heavenly abode yesterday at the age of 71. After suffering from cancer for many years, she succumbed to the deadly disease and left everyone disheartened. Informing this sad news to Indian Express, Ritu's brother Randhir Kapoor said, "Ritu Nanda passed away early morning today. She was suffering from cancer. We are in Delhi. The funeral is today." Right from Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Rima Jain, Neetu Kapoor to Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan, Ritu's close family members were present at her funeral. To mourn the loss of his daughter Shweta's mother-in-law, Amitabh Bachchan penned down a gut-wrenching note on his blog.

Mentioning how he got to know about Ritu's sudden demise, Sr Bachchan wrote, "That silent knock at the workplace .. the hurried expression of worried concern .. the hours that sleep in most parts of the World that seek the midnight .. shuffled steps, soft anxious and disturbed conversations .. and then within a blink .. the lights go out .. .. she has gone .."

Recalling the moments he spent with her, Big B added, "polite conversation, of reminisce, of association, of happy time spent together, of the fight and struggle for the ailment for years .. and most of all the loneliness of them that are left behind .. the vacuum .. the emptiness .. the presence that filled up the entire home .. lost and gone .."

For the unversed, Amitabh Bachchan's daughter, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, is married to Ritu Nanda's son, Nikhil Nanda. Ritu Nanda was associated with the life insurance business as an entrepreneur. Her name is mentioned in the Guinness Book of Records for making a record of selling 17,000 pension policies in a single day. She was married to late industrialist Rajan Nanda.
