Darbar box office update: Rajinikanth's action entertainer rakes in Rs 12.69 cr on day 10

Rajinikanth's Darbar is all guns blazing at the box office. The film has made over Rs 150 crores at the box-office already and is still going strong. Darbar, which is directed by AR Murugadoss sees Rajinikanth in a cop avatar. He is back as a cop on screen after a long time. Fans still cannot forget the character of Alex Pandian. The film had made close Rs 127 crores in the first four days from domestic and overseas collection. Darbar and Pattas are also the top ten films in Malaysia for the weekend. The film sees Nayanthara with Rajinikanth as his leading lady.

BollywoodLife in its review wrote, "Darbar is a Rajinikanth show all the way. The superstar is in terrific form, carrying almost the entire film on the combined strength of his mannerisms, body language, punchlines, inimitable gait, irreplaceable posture and indomitable swag (collectively known as Rajini-isms) alone. It helps though when your Director loves your charm and is enamoured with your nostalgia, not to mentioned is armed with a legendary DOP (Santosh Sivan) who knows exactly how to play with lighting and camera angles, plus a composer (Anirudh Ravichander) who's score accentuates each frame. Among the supporting cast, Nivetha Thomas, who plays Arunachalam's daughter, Valli, is the only one who makes a mark."

Darbar has been sold to the distributors for a huge sum of Rs 140 crore. This means that Darbar needs to make a minimum of Rs 250 crore to break even and at least Rs 300 to be a clean hit. Stay tuned to BL for more scoops and updates!
