From Tanhaji to Chhapaak: THESE films are expected to enter the elite Rs 100 crore club in 2020
We have entered the new year and are more than happy as film-buffs, with Bollywood having many exciting releases in store for us. In 2019, the Hindi film industry delivered eighteen Rs. 100 crore films and if we look at 2020, it seems this year will just get bigger and grander. As per our prediction, we have 25 films that can hit a century at the ticket windows. While some of them have star power some have strong content and others have the combination of both. So, without wasting any further time, let's check out those films, which can cross the Rs. 100 crore mark at the ticket windows.
Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior
The historical drama, which features Ajay Devgn, Kajol and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles, has impressed viewers with its promos. The star power of Ajay and the promised gripping content has all the potential to draw a large number of audience in cinema halls for Tanhaji.
Chhapaak
Deepika is making a comeback on the silver screen after almost two long years and that itself will bring a huge chunk of audience to the theatres. The powerful trailer has garnered a thunderous response on social media and we definitely think that after Raazi, Meghna Gulzar once again will achieve the Rs. 100 crore mark at the box office with Chhapaak.
Street Dancer 3D
Remo D'Souza has explored the dance genre in India with ABCD franchise, and with Street Dancer 3D, the choreographer turned Director has taken this genre to the next level. The presence of Varun and Shraddha along with other amazing dancers and the possible entertaining plot, can make it a winner at the box-office.
Aaj Kal
The crackling chemistry between Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan and Director Imtiaz Ali could push this romantic drama toward bona-fide hit territory.
Malang
The stills of Aditya Roy Kapur with Disha Patani, coupled with Anil Kapoor's first look, have generated a great amount of buzz on social media. This Mohit Suri film can surprise us like Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain by making big bucks at the box office.
Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan
Ayushmann Khurrana gave back-to-back 100-crore films in 2019 with Dream Girl and Bala and we feel that Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan has that unusual and unique content, which may win audience's hearts again.
Baaghi 3
With Baaghi 2 and War, Tiger Shroff has shown us his impeccable action skills and he promises to take it to the next level with Baaghi 3.
Sooryavanshi
The combo of Akshay Kumar and Rohit Shetty and the cameos of Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh as Singham and Simmba are enough to make this film a blockbuster.
'83
Honestly, every cricket fan wants to watch this film as it narrates the heroic journey of the Indian team's world cup victory in 1983. Watching it on the big screen with Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev will definitely be a treat.
Brahmastra
Watching real-life couple Ranbir and Alia together on the silver screen for the first time in this superhero venture along with megastar Amitabh Bachchan are sufficient reasons for the audience to book tickets for Brahmastra.
Coolie No 1
After Judwaa 2, Papa David Dhawan and son Varun Dhawan will offer one more remake in the form of Coolie No. 1. Varun has impressed us with his bang-on comic timing in Main Tera Hero and the Dulhania franchise, and we are expecting the same from him in this comic caper.
Laxmmi Bomb
Khiladi Kumar is portraying the character of a possessed transgender in Laxmmi Bomb and being the remake of hit Tamil film Kanchana, the horror-comedy is one of the awaited films of the year.
Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai
Honestly, the 100-crore mark is a cakewalk for any Salman Khan film and Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai looks destined to follow the same trajectory.
Sadak 2
Mahesh Bhatt has donned the director's hat after 2 decades for Sadak 2, and with the ensemble cast of Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt, we can definitely expect the thriller to get a good response from the audience.
RRR
Post the humongous success of the Baahubali franchise, filmmaker SS Rajamouli became a household name even in northern markets. Ram Charan and Jr NTR's big-budget drama, which also has the presence of Bollywood stars like Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt, is definitely expected to be a money-spinner in its Hindi dubbed version as well.
Shamshera
The period dacoit drama, which will see Sanjay Dutt and Ranbir Kapoor face-off, is expected to take the viewers on a nostalgic adventurous ride, poised to translate to big bucks at the ticket windows.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2
Kartik Aaryan has stepped into the shoes of Akshay Kumar for the second installment, and the way Kartik's films are performing at the ticket windows, we won't be surprised if it hits century at the box office.
Bhuj The Pride Of India
The period patriotic film, which stars Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Rana Daggubati, Sonakshi Sinha and Pooja Hegde, promises to be apt for the Independence-Day weekend.
Jersey
After Kabir Singh, Shahid Kapoor will feature in one more Telugu remake titled Jersey, and if you have watched the original one, you will definitely want to see the Shahid Kapoor version, too.
Gangubai Kathiawadi
Aesthetic filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali has teamed up with Alia Bhatt for this period drama, and we are hoping an engaging and strong film from the duo.
Rambo
Tiger Shroff will step into shoes of Sylvester Stallone to play the iconic, Rambo, in this remake, and we know that this Hollywood franchise has a huge fanbase in India, which will definitely give it a huge boost at the box office.
Satyameva Jayate 2
The John Abraham and Divya Khosla Kumar starrer will have bigger and grander action sequences with some seetimaar dialogues, which will definitely get claps and shouts in single screens and mass centres.
Prithviraj
The historical film is based on the life of warrior Prithiviraj Chauhan, which will be essayed by Khiladi Akshay Kumar. The film will release during the Diwali weekend and we are expecting crackers at the box office for this one
Maidaan
Directed by Badhaai Ho helmer Abhishek Sharma, Maidaan features Ajay Devgn as legendary coach Syed Abdul Rahim, who is said to be the founding father of Indian football. The sports drama definitely promises to feature inspiring and gripping content, which can perform well at the box office.
Laal Singh Chaddha
It's an Aamir Khan film and by looking at the first look, we are expecting Laal Singh Chaddha to set new benchmarks at the ticket windows.
Bachchan Pandey
Akshay Kumar will don a massy avatar for Bachchan Pandey, and the first look itself promises a blockbuster on the cards.
