Street Dancer 3D day 1 box office early estimates: Varun Dhawan's dance extravaganza gets average response from the masses

Street Dancer 3D starring Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor is off to an underwhelming start. As per the early estimates coming in the front, Street Dancer 3D is estimated to open the box office with Rs 10-11 crore. The Remo D'Souza directorial has been one of the most expensive dance films in the country. With big star faces and reportedly more screens than the period drama Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, the film was expected to do better business.

Film trade analyst Girish Johar had predicted that the film will earn around Rs 15 crore on Day 1. As a result, the numbers come out as underwhelming. In an conversation with indianexpress.com, Girish had said, "Varun and Shraddha did wonders last time. This time also, it's looking quite good and appealing to the youth. To top it, its music is also being loved by everyone. And it has drama, theme of patriotism and love among more. So I guess the audience is excited for the film."

ABCD 2 had done a mediocre performance, however, Girish added that it won't affect Street Dancer 3D's business. "I don't think any negative impact will happen, rather a positive rub-off. That ways, it's connected not only to the city's youth but to the interiors as well. And the feel, the look of the film is very appealing, up-market and contemporary. It is expected to have a good start at the box office for sure," he said.

The film has not received any good reviews from the masses and the critics. The film has been panned due to it poor storyline. But it'll be interesting to see how will Street Dancer 3D fare with the upcoming Republic Day holiday.

The film also stars Nora Fatehi, Raghav Juyal, Aparshakti Khurrana, Dharmesh Yelande, Salman Yusuff Khan and Punit Pathak in pivotal roles.
