THIS Bollywood superstar to produce Sanjay Mishra starrer Kaamyaab
Bollywood News: Waiting for Shah Rukh Khan to announce his next film? Well, we understand the excitement and anticipation but the Badshah of Bollywood is focusing on producing content rather than the acting as of now. The actor is known for making films or in the least, signing them or announcing them within two or three months of his releases. However, this time around, after Zero's commercial failure, Shah Rukh distanced himself from the craft for a while to spend time with his family and focus on making films only when his heart tells him. We have an update on his production front. The actor has found a film that he wants to produce.
As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, Shah Rukh Khan has come aboard as one of the producers for Kaamyaab. He will be producing the film alongside Manish Mundra. The film stars Sanjay Mishra in the lead with Deepak Dobriyal and Sarika Singh in key roles. It will be helmed by Hardik Mehta who is debuting in direction. Mehta will also be seen directing the Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer Roohi Afza, this year. Mehta is a National Award recipient.
Coming back to the film, as per the report in the portal, Sanjay Mishra plays an actor in the Kaamyaab. A source close to the development of the film told the daily, "The makers felt he was the best fit for the role as his career graph in Bollywood mirrors that of his character, who starts out as an extra and goes on to be acknowledged as an extraordinary actor."
Kaamyaab has been screened at various film festivals in India and abroad as well. It has been receiving amazing responses at various film festivals like Busan International Film Festival, New York City South Asian Film Festival, Indian Film Festival of Melbourne and Shanghai International Film Festival, to name a few.
Coming back to Kaamyaab, the film narrates the struggle of character artistes in Bollywood. It struck a chord with Shah Rukh as the subject is one that has never been attempted hitherto. Hence his decision to produce the film. As per the report, the film also features several contemporary character actors and pays tribute to late veterans like Johnny Walker, Birbal, Manmauji and Viju Khote.
