#30yearsofAashiqui : Rahul Roy reveals on The Kapil Sharma Show that he had rejected Shah Rukh Khan's Darr
The Kapil Sharma Show is one of the most entertaining TV shows from the comedy genre. Fans of Kapil Sharma and his company of comedians, wait for every weekend to arrive to watch the show on their television sets and needless to say, Kapil and his troupe never disappoint them. For weeks now, The Kapil Sharma Show has been making it in the list of top 10 most-watched Indian television shows. Even celebrities love visiting Kapil's show's sets and it's not just for promoting their film. Many celebs turn up to revisit old memories and recreate new ones. And that's what is going to happen in the show soon.
You may remember, Aashiqui, right? The leads of one of the most loved and a hit blockbuster of the 1990s that starred Rahul Roy, Anu Aggarwal and Deepak Tijori in leads? Yep, the movie has completed 30 years. Can you believe that? And to celebrate the same, Rahul Roy, Anu Aggarwal and Deepak Tijori dropped by the sets of The Kapil Sharma Show. It was a major nostalgia where Rahul not only crooned to the hits of his film but also shared some fun and interesting trivia.
As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, while on the show, Rahul Roy opened up on being a sensation post the release of his film. However, he didn't receive any offers for the next six months. He went on to say, "But suddenly I was offered almost 49 films and I didn't know which to take and which to leave," he confessed adding, "I remember Yash Chopra ji had called me for a narration. I was pre-occupied with other films and couldn't take up the offer as many of the projects I had signed on were already on floors and filmmakers were fighting for my dates."
When asked about the film, Rahul revealed, "Well, the film was Darr, which later went to Shah Rukh Khan and shaped his career. His character Rahul was written keeping me in mind. I still have the big regret of not signing that film." Rahul also claimed that he has no qualms for taking a break from Bollywood. "I went out for a good nine years, and that was my choice. So I can't really complain."
