Alia Bhatt's next to be a social drama with Angrezi Medium director Saket Chaudhary

Alia Bhatt is one talented actress. The actress is gearing up for Brahamastra which is one of the most anticipated films of the year. However, the actress has quite a few films in her kitty. And now, if reports are to be believed the actress has been approached for another film. Just a couple of weeks ago, Alia Bhatt had announced Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi and now as per a report in Mumbai Mirror, the actress has been approached for a social drama next.

Talking about the film, it is yet untitled and will be helmed by Saket Chaudhary who is gearing up for Irrfan Khan, Radhika Madan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Deepak Dobriyal starrer Angrezi Medium. The film is touted to be a social drama with a humorous touch but with a strong message. The film will be produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and is set in the heartland of India. Reportedly, Alia has liked the script and has given her nod to it.

A source close to the development told Mirror that the director wanted to cast Alia for the role. "Saket has been working on the script for a while now. He was keen on casting Alia, who liked the script and has given her nod. She is expected to sign on the dotted line shortly. Meanwhile, hunt for the leading man is still on. The team will finalise the shooting schedule once the entire cast is locked. Saket has also begun initial recce for appropriate locations," the source told the leading daily.

On the other hand, apart from Gangubai Kathiawadi and Brahmastra, Alia Bhatt also has a number of films in the pipeline. She has Sadak 2 with Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt. Alia has SS Rajamouli's RRR which marks her Telugu debut and Karan Johar's ensemble cast period drama film, Takht.
