Thappad

Cast: Taapsee Pannu, Pavail Gulati, Ratna Pathak Shah, Dia Mirza, Tanvi Azmi, Ram Kapoor, Kumud Mishra, Nidhi Uttam, Manav Kaul, Gracy Goswami.

Director: Anubhav Sinha

Synopsis: Thappad is a social drama film that narrates the tale of Amrita, a loving and doting wife. Once she is slapped by her husband during a party in front of the guests. That incident shakes her up and she files for divorce. The thing to bear in mind is the thought that if one ignores one slap, it leads to a chain reaction that has been going on for the longest time now. Often women are asked to let go of the physical abuse at the hands of their better-halves or have been asked to silently endure the pain, suppressing their voices. Taapsee Pannu, Anubhav Sinha, and their team is here to challenge that very mindset of the people. Long overdue, but welcome.

Guns of Banaras

Cast: Karan Nath, Nathalia Kaur, Abhimanyu Singh, Ganesh Venkatraman, Shilpa Shirodkar, Zarina Wahab, Mohan Agashe, Tej Sapru.

Director: Sekhar Suri

Synopsis: Guns of Banaras is said to be a remake of 2007's Dhanush starrer, Pollaadhavan, which was a super hit at the box office back then. The story is set in Banaras. The hero happens to pick on the wrong side of some goons and thence commences gang wars. DK Sapru's grandson Karan plays the lead.
