WTF Wednesday: The curious case of Mahira Sharma's forged Dadasaheb Phalke Award certificate has left us scratching our heads

We had heard about forged currency, marksheets and identification papers but the one that is making maximum news is Mahira Sharma's apparently duplicated Dadasaheb Phalke Award. The Bigg Boss 13 contestant won a certificate for being the Most Fashionable Bigg Boss 13 contestant. Hell broke lose as the organizers said that the certificate flaunted by her on social media was a forged one. The news came as a shocker for many. Mahira Sharma had enough sufficiently well for herself to make it to the top seven of the gruelling reality show. There was hardly any need for her to bag a forged laurel.

What is damn amusing is the reactions that have come from various quarters. The organizers are damn adamant that the award is a forged one and by parading it on social media, she has belittled its prestige. But what has caught our notice is the statement that Mahira Sharma was apparently not given the certificate on stage. The least someone can expect is that an awardee will be called on stage to receive the award. Her managers are saying that she was handed over the certificate on her seat as there was too much rush near the stage. We are not debunking the statement as many such functions are terribly managed on all fronts.

The issue has now blown up with some event managers saying that Mahira Sharma is not at fault. Clearly, it looks like some miscommunication. The young lady would not bask over a forged certificate, in all her sanity. They are insistent that she was called because she was going to be felicitated at the event. And if this is not all, then they claimed that no all certificates of the organization look the same. If that's indeed true, then we don't know if it's right to hold a dagger over Mahira Sharma's head. What do you guys feel about this? Let us know with your comments!
