Coronavirus pandemic: Rape convict Harvey Weinstein tests positive for the deadly virus

We are judge but it looks like Karma just played its role. Now a disgraced Hollywood producer, Harvey Weinstein who was convicted of rape has been tested positive for the coronavirus. Yes, you read that right. It was known that Weinstein was taken to the hospital due to his ill health soon after the convict. The diagnosis was first reported by a local paper called Niagara Gazette. As per the report, the producer's spokesperson has refused to comment on the same. Furthermore, when a news portal tried contacting the New York State Department of Corrections, they did not respond to the same.

For those not in the know, post-conviction, Harvey Weinstein was transferred to a prison in Buffalo, northwest of New York City. Prior to this, Weinstein was kept in Rikers Island prison and was treated at the Manhattan hospital when he complained of chest pains. We all are well aware of the much-needed quarantine emergency situation all across the globe. In such a case, coronavirus found its way into the crowded prisons. Just last week, guards at the Rikers and New York's Sing Sing prison had been tested positive for the COVID-19.

As of yet, around 33,000 cases of coronavirus has been registered in the US. Around 417 cases of death due to the deadly virus has been found, as per the statistical data accumulated by Johns Hopkins University.

Coming back to Harvey Weinstein, the Hollywood producer was convicted of raping former actress Jessica Mann in 2013 and of forcibly performing oral sex on former production assistant Mimi Hayeli in 2006. Almost 90 women had accused Weinstein of a sexual offense, including Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek.

Talking about coronavirus, it is a contact transmission disease and hence people have been asked to stay at home and not go out in these times of emergency.
