Coronavirus Pandemic: Shooting of Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur's Jersey called off

The outbreak of coronavirus has affected the entertainment industry in a huge way. After the postponement of a biggie like Sooryavanshi, the shooting of Shahid Kapoor's Jersey has been called off due to this disease. Shahid revealed this news on Twitter on Saturday as he tweeted, "At a time like this it is our social responsibility to do everything in our capacity to curb the spread of this virus. Team #Jersey is suspending shoot so as to enable all unit members to be with their families and in the safety of their homes. Be responsible. Stay safe.Red heartFolded hands"

The makers have completed the 70 per cent of shooting and were in Chandigarh to shoot Shahid's older portions. "We were looking to wrap up by April-end but in the wake of the unfolding crisis across the globe, we have decided to suspend the shoot for a few weeks. If the situation normalises soon, we will resume work by early next month." " said co-producer Aman Gill to Mumbai Mirror.

The producer also said that the delay in filming won't affect the release date of Jersey. "We'd still have three-four months for post-production after we finish filming by mid-May," concluded the producer. Jersey is directed by Gowtham Tinnanauri and produced by Allu Aravind, Aman Gill and Dil Raju. The film also features Mrunal Thakur in a key role and is slated to release on August 28, 2020.
