It's Friday the 13th today, people. It happens at least once every year but can occur up to three times in the same year. This year, will have another Friday the 13th in November. As it's considered to be an unlucky day, people generally avoid doing anything auspicious on this day. Even in Bollywood, generally people don't release their films on Friday the 13th. However, some makers have gone against the tide and it has proved worthwhile for them as their films were hits at the box office. Let's have a look at a few of those releases.

The film released on March 13, 2015 and was Anushka Sharma's first film as a producer. It was a hit and was appreciated by most critics as well. It starred Anushka Sharma, Neil Bhoopalam, Darshan Kumar, Deepti Naval and Ravi Jhankal.

Grand Masti 102 crore nett

This adult comedy released on September 13, 2013 and was a huge hit. A sequel to the 2004 film Masti, the film starred Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani, Sonalee Kulkarni, Karishma Tanna and Manjari Fadnis.

Cocktail 71 crore nett

It released on July 13, 2012 and starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty. The love triangle made a lot of money at the box office. Its songs also became very popular.

Ragini MMS 10.71 crore nett

Starring Rajkummar Rao and Kainaz Motiwala, the horror film was an unexpected hit. It released on May 13, 2011 and was supposedly inspired by the Hollywood hit, Paranormal Activity.

Peepli Live 29.29 crore nett

This satirical comedy was produced by Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao. Starring Omkar Das Manikpuri and Raghubir Yadav, the film was released on August 13, 2010 and was a hit. It was also India's official entry for the Oscars.
