Happy Birthday Shreya Ghoshal: Here’s a cute throwback to the time when little Shreya enthralled everyone with her talent – watch video

It's Shreya Ghoshal's birthday today. The singer with one of the most melodious voices ever clocks 36 years. At the age of 16, Shreya not only won over the whole country with her brilliant singing skills, but also made a place in everyone's heart with her kind nature and magnetic charm. Shreya began training in music at the tender age of 4. She was accompanied by her mother on the tanpura and usually sang Bengali songs. Shreya began training in classical music at the age of 6, under the tutelage of the Late Kalyanji Virji Shah and later, the Late Mukta Bhide in Mumbai.

On her special day today, we have found a rare video of teenage Shreya that we thought of sharing with y'all. How she won over the audience with her musical talent, leaving senior talented musicians baffled, is what the video is all about. In the video, Shreya is seen crooning to Alka Yagnik and Kumar Sanu's romantic track, Odhli Chunariya from the Salman Khan and Kajol starrer, Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya. The music of this evergreen number was given by Himesh Reshammiya while the lyrics were penned by Sameer. Have a look at the amazing throwback video here:

In an earlier interview, Shreya Ghoshal had opened up on the recreation of music. "Recreations are okay if you do a couple of them, but now, if every other song is a recreation, it is pretty sad. I feel that even the audiences feel it. They want to listen to new songs and they are feeling, 'Okay, this song we have already heard, and now there is a new beat on it.' Some of the recreations are done smartly where there is a new colour to it, and there is a completely new take to it. However, some of them are just about re-doing a popular song," Shreya told an online entertainment portal.
