Mr. Lele: Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar starrer put on hold? — read deets

Varun Dhawan has reunited with Shashank Khaitan for the third time after Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania for Mr. Lele. With Mr. Lele, Varun experiments a new genre and character as well. The actor will be essaying the role of a quintessential Maharashtrian character. For the same, the actor has to undergo training to get his accent right. The film will also star Janhvi Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar. However, as per reports in Mumbai Mirror, Shashank Khaitan's Mr Lele featuring Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, and Bhumi Pednekar has been put on hold. This is due to date issues, and some issues with the scripts, Mr Lele has been put on a pause for now. Shashank Khaitan had begun work on the preproduction, but the actors' dates aren't aligning and therefore, a new plan for Mr Lele will be worked out at a later stage. Another reason that is being pointed out for the film being put on hold is issues with the script. Sadly, the film was scheduled to go on floors this month and was to be shot extensively in Mumbai.

In an interview, Varun Dhawan had revealed that after reading the script of the film, he had called Shashank 109 times in two days. He said, "Talks are on (for an action film), I'm looking to explore the comic thriller genre too in Mr Lele. After reading the script, I called Shashank 109 times in two days." While earlier, Kiara Advani was paired opposite Varun Dhawan, but due to date issues, Kiara had walked out and later, Janhvi Kapoor was roped in.

 

Varun Dhawan was last seen in Street Dancer 3D with Shraddha Kapoor and recently finished shooting for his father, David Dhawan's Coolie No. 1. The film also stars Sara Ali Khan opposite Varun Dhawan.
