Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar to play the leads in Badhai Ho's second instalment Badhai Do

Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Badhai Ho had been a hit and the film was loved by the fans. The amazing performances 0f Ayushmann Khurrana, Sanya Malhotra, Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao, and Surekha Sikri had won hearts. After Badhaai Ho, bagged two National Awards, Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment and Best Supporting Actress, it was earlier reported that the film that producer Junglee Pictures is all set to take the social-comedy forward with a second instalment. Now, as per reports in Mumbai Mirror, Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar will play the lead roles in the second part of Badhai Ho titled as Badhai Do. The film will be directed by prolific ad filmmaker and Hunterrr director Harshavardhan Kulkarni. Badhaai Do is a family comedy, which revolves around an unlikely relationships.

Both the films will have a different storyline, however, they will be connected with a common theme. Rajkummar Rao will play a Delhi cop, the only male cop in a mahila thana, Bhumi Pednekar will essay the role of a school PT teacher. The film is about the goof-ups that follow when they meet, and their lives intertwine in more ways than one. In an interview with Bombay Times, Bhumi Pednekar said, "My character again is strong, independent and author-backed, and it gives me a lot of scope to bring a very different and cool character to life. This time, too, the film will say something extremely relevant and relatable, but in a hilarious manner. I'm also excited to share screen space with Raj for the first time." Rajkummar Rao spoke about his character in the film. He said, "I look for layered characters and this is a perfect match. My character is surrounded by strong women at home and work, and that adds immense depth to his personality."

 

 

Badhai Do is set to go on floors in June 2020 and is slated to release in 2021.
