Tuesday Trivia: This is how Ranbir Kapoor forgot his Holi blues while romancing ex-girlfriend Deepika Padukone in Balam Pichkari

Today is Holi and the entire nation is celebrating the festival of colours. Bollywood has a long tradition of hit Holi songs, but one of the numbers most millennials identify with is Balam Pichkari. The peppy track from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is a bonafide chartbuster. People cannot get over the beats, the catchy lyrics and of course, the picturization on the sizzling pair of Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor. The film was shot after their breakup, but their chemistry was bang on. Fans also loved Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin in the film. The song reflects how Naina (Deepika Padukone) transforms as a person after meeting Bunny aka Kabir (Ranbir Kapoor). Naina finally sheds her inhibitions and shows off her infectious, wild and free-spirited side.

However, do you know that Ranbir Kapoor is not a Holi person per se? Yes, the handsome Bollywood actor is not overtly fond of the festival of colours. It was filmmaker Ayan Mukerji's wish to have a Holi number and he sat down with Pritam to ideate the composition. Ranbir Kapoor, who is also Ayan's BFF, got into his element during the shoot to make sure the Holi spirit came out in full fervour. Ranbir romanced Deepika Padukone like a dream in this number, and we still cannot get over their moves. It seems, he also threw Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin in the water tub repeatedly during the shoot. The masti that came across beautifully on screen was because of the fact that the team had genuine fun.
