WTF Wednesday: Bigg Boss Malayalam 2 contestant Rajith Kumar's fans flouting #COVID19 rules made us shake our heads in disbelief

There are many who slammed Bigg Boss 13 as one of the most rowdiest shows to ever take place on Indian Television. But guys, guess it is Bigg Boss Malayalam 2 that looks set to give it a tough competition. It seems one of the most popular contestants, Rajith Kumar, threw chilli paste powder on the eyes of his co-contestant, Reshma on her birthday celebrations. There was a task where everyone was supposed to act as students. Rajith Kumar was told to leave the house by host Mohanlal. Reports say that he might be brought back as fans want to see him on the show.

But it is not the expulsion or return of the professor that made news. After his exit from the house, a crowd of close to 80 people reached Kochi International Airport to give him a hero's welcome. They gathered to catch a glimpse of their idol. The Kerala state had warned people against public gatherings but we wonder what is this craze that people did not fear even the coronavirus. The outbreak that has affected lakhs across the world is being treated as a national emergency by nations. We can understand fan mania on social media but people openly flouting rules in such a critical situation is downright idiotic and condemnable.

The public gathering was slammed by many regional celebs and rightly so. We wonder what made people go so crazy about him. Across industries, work on film and TV sets is being halted so that social distancing happens. It is said to be the most effective remedy against the pandemic. We have seen what happened in Italy's Lombardy. Honestly, it is time for every celeb and fan to behave responsibly, taking into account the need of the hour.
