Ajay Devgn's Raid to be turned into a franchise — deets inside

Ajay Devgn whose Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior went on to become the highest grosser of 2020. The actor has quite a few films in his kitty and is on the verge of signing a fair few as well. As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, Ajay Devgn and Bhushan Kumar who have multiple collaborations in the pipeline are in talks for the sequel of 2018's hit film, Raid. Yes, you read that right. Now, Ajay Devgn has another franchise added in his filmography.

Talking about the sequel to Raid, as per the report in Mumbai Mirror, the makers have locked on to a story which is also, like its predecessor, based on a true story. "The franchise seeks to bring into the public eye heroes who work closely with intelligence agencies to track white-collar crimes. To this day, nobody knows the identity of the officer on whom Ajay's Amay was modeled. Raid 2 will also be a tribute to men who don't wear the uniform," a source close to the development of the film, informed the daily.

Bhushan Kumar affirmed the news and also voiced his nervous excitement saying, "It will be a huge multi-film franchise and Ajay ji and I, along with Kumar Mangat ji, are looking to take Raid forward. The script of Part 2 is being developed. Since the original was a much-loved film, the sequel is a huge responsibility. After the super success of Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, there's a lot of pressure on this collaboration to live up to the expectation. We have always aimed at creating high concept films."

Ajay has been a part of franchises like Singham, Golmaal to list a few.
