#CheersChintuji: Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta urges people to raise a toast as a farewell for actor Rishi Kapoor

On Thursday, everyone was in for a mother shock when the news of the evergreen charmer, Rishi Kapoor's demise broke out all across the country. Family, friends, colleagues and fans from all around the world too to their respective social handles to offer condolences and prayers for the family and the soul of the veteran actor. Abhishek Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Aadar Jain, Armaan Jain, Randhir Kapoor, Rima Jain, along with Ridhima Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor and others dropped by to pay their last respects. And now, filmmaker Sanjay Gupta has initiated a hashtag in the fond memory of the most romantic hero.

Sanjay Gupta has urged everyone to pay their respect to Rishi Kapoor in the late veteran actor's style. He has asked everyone to raise a toast in the memory of the actor, share the image of themselves with a drink in their hand with a hashtag #CheersChintuji. Taking to his Twitter handle, he wrote, "#RishiKapoor Even in his passing away we can only celebrate him. 9pm today post a pic with a drink with #CheersChintuji." Later he went on to share a picture of himself raising a toast to the Amar Akbar Anthony actor.

Yesterday after his passing, the official spokesperson of the family released an official statement urging people to stay at home and abide by the government directives to stay at home owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. "In this hour of personal loss, we also recognise the world is going through a very difficult and troubled time. There are numerous restrictions around movement and gathering in public. We would like to request all his fans and well-wishers and friends of the family to please respect the laws that are in force. He would not have it any other way," a part of the statement read.

We must say, that's a good way to fulfill his wish and be responsible.
