WTF Wednesday: Urvashi Rautela deflecting the blame on her social-media team after the 'Parasite' tweet plagiarism row is making us roll our eyes

Urvashi Rautela recently found herself in a plagiarism row and was badly trolled for the same. It so happened that she watched the much-acclaimed, award-winning Korean film, Parasite and posted her review of the same. Taking to Twitter, Urvashi wrote, "One thing I really love about @ParasiteMovie is that rather than depict the fam as scammers pretending to be good at their jobs, they actually do their jobs flawlessly! what they lack isn't skill, but institutional stamps of approval and the bows and ribbons that rich people love." Well, the fact of the matter is that Parasite is a much-talked about film, too. People have spent hours discussing the social fabric and moral compass of the masterpiece.

So, not surprisingly, someone soon pointed it out that Urvashi Rautela's text in her tweet was remarkably similar to what was written by New York based author, JP Brammer. Once Brammer larned about this, he did not spare the actress. In a couple of tweets, Brammer remonstrated that he did not ask for this kind of limelight. Read his rebuttals below:

After she got trolled for copy-pasting Brammer's tweet, Urvashi Rautela said it was done by her social-media team and they had rectified the mistake. But pray tell, Urvashi, what was the need of having a movie review put out by your social-media team? Even if were to believe you for a moment, your feeble excuse raises another avalanche of criticism as a review is meant to be personal, and certainly not something anybody else in the whole wide world can write for you, no matter how well she/he may know you.

While it is praise-worthy to watch great content like Parasite, trying to sound like an intellectual and putting out a review is not mandatory. We do not know what exactly happened but we feel Urvashi and her team should be smarter the next time round.
