Ananya Panday on working with Deepika Padukone: 'It feels like being with a friend'

Ananya Panday enjoyed a great start of her career with confident debut Student of the Year 2 for which she bagged the Filmfare Best Debut Award, followed by a box office winner in the form of Pati Patni Aur Woh, which also starred Kartik Aaryan and Bhumi Pednekar. The actress is currently filming for Vijay Deverakonda's Fighter, which will be her first pan-India film and post that she will share screen space with Siddhant Chaturvedi and Deepika Padukone in director Shakun Batra's untitled thriller. Talking on sharing screen space with DP, Ananya told SpotBoye, "You don't feel like she's a star overpowering you. It feels like being with a friend. Deepika is more beautiful on the inside than on the outside."

Talking about Deepika's look in the film, a source closed to the development said, "Deepika and Anaita (designer) are extremely excited to be working together in Shakun Batra's film where the latter would be styling her. Certain looks are underway but Anaita would want to keep it cool, easy and sexy just like how Veronica was breezy and sexy, at the same time. The process is going to be fun and it will be after a long time that both of them would come together as a team. We all are super elated to see what is in store, already."

Talking about the project, Karan Johar earlier said, "Shakun has directed one of the most acclaimed films of Dharma Productions Kapoor & Sons. With this movie, he also turns producer with us. His upcoming directorial is an intriguing relationship drama, which will release on Valentine's Day 2021. I am proud and excited about Shakun's vision as a versatile filmmaker." Shakun added, "I have had a wonderful journey with Karan and his production house for almost a decade now, and I can't wait to get back into the director's chair for my next. It's a relationship drama where the characters find themselves stuck in a morally ambiguous zone." The film will hit the screens on February 12, 2021.
