Bad Boy Namashi Chakraborty names his favourite actor, and it's not his father, Mithun Chakraborty [Exclusive]

Fun, charming, self-aware, humble, and honest that's how we'd describe our first impression of Namashi, son of the legendary Mithun Chakraborty. The lad, who'll soon be debuting in Bad Boy, helmed by one of India's greatest Directors, Rajkumar Santoshi (Ghayal, Ghatak, Andaz Apna Apna, Damini, Pukar, Khakee, China Gate, The Legend of Bhagat Singh, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani), sat down for an Insta live chat with us, and ended opening up quite a bit on an array of topics.

From taking us through how he landed his first film without his father's knowledge and how he learned from Mithun Chakraborty sir to ignore negativity since a young age to his three favourite actors other than his dad, how he's prepared for comparisons with him, and the best dancer in his family Namashi Chakraborty's candid confessions were simply to die for in this exclusive interview.

Speaking about his three favourite actors other than Chakraborty Sr., who've had a huge impact on him both personally and professionally, you'd be surprised to know that one of them is even a bigger favourite than his dad, Mithun. That's not to say that he isn't a huge fan of his father's talent as also his stardom, which he already admitted to earlier in our conversation. It's just that this particular actor has really had a major influence in shaping him as a performer and individual.

Revealing their names, Namashi said, "Govinda sir has been a huge influence. In fact, not only an influence, but I'm such a huge fan of him, that you just need to look at my clothes (pans the camera to his shirt, a multi-coloured polka-dot one, reminiscent of the kind Govinda would regularly wear in his movies). You have to understand that Govinda sir is in my blood. Govinda and Shah Rukh Khan are two actors whom I've been hardcore fans of since childhood. I used to stick posters all around the house and to this day, I watch their movies. And I'm even a big fan of Salman (Khan) bhai. But Govinda is my all-time favourite actor. I don't think anyone as talented, as great a comic actor, as amazing a dancer what you'd call a complete actor has ever been seen on screen before or since, and, yes, he's my all-time favourite."

Along with Namashi, Bad Boy also marks the debut of Amrin Qureshi, producer Sajid Qureshi's daughter, who's bankrolling the film with Dhaval Jayantilal Gada and Aksshay Jayantilal Gada.
