Coronavirus impact: With Sooryavanshi, Laxmmi Bomb and many other films in the pipeline, Akshay Kumar is perhaps the most affected Bollywood actor

It's a known fact that Akshay Kumar is one busy actor. Each year, around 3-5 films of the actor release on the big screen. In 2019, Kesari, Mission Mangal, Housefull 4 and Good Newwz released. Now, according to a Mumbai Mirror report, with coronavirus, he is also perhaps the most affected actor. He is a part of Sooryavanshi, Laxmmi Bomb, Atrangi Re, Bachchan Pandey, Prithviraj, Bell Bottom and Ekta Kapoor's comedy. All were in different stages. Now, once things start getting normal, he will have to reschedule his calendar.

It can be recalled that just a few days before the nationwide lockdown was announced, on March 24, the makers of Sooryavanshi decided to postpone their film. Taking to his social handle, Akshay Kumar, the leading man of the film, shared a picture which was a statement by the team of Sooryavanshi. "Sooryavanshi is an experience that we have created for you with over a year of dedication and hard work, and the response we received for the trailer was nothing less than electrifying and made it clear that this film truly belongs to its audience."

"Due to the recent outburst of the COVID - 19 (coronavirus), we, the makers, have decided to postpone the release of your film Sooryavanshi, keeping in mind the health and safety of our beloved audience." (sic) the statement further read.

Apart from donating to PM Cares fund and Mumbai Police, Akshay also offered to help Mumbai cinema hall Gaiety-Galaxy owner to pay his staff. Manoj Desai, the owner of the cinema hall revealed that he had to take a bank loan to provide salaries to his employees amid the coronavirus lockdown. Akshay Kumar happened to read about it and hence called them up to offer help. Manoj Desai said, "Three days ago, I got a call from Akshayji. He offered to provide financial assistance if the scenario continues. It was kind of him to offer help, but we should find a way to sustain ourselves. We have managed to collect enough funds to pay the salaries for this month, but the theatre shutdown will have long-term ramifications. Our focus is to ensure we don't trim staff or resort to pay cuts."

Well, we really hope things get better soon.
