Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega's Nishant Malkani on show's leap and his exit: I won't be able to play a 50-year-old father

Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega has been one of the most-watched shows, and Nishant Singh Malkani-Kanika Mann have impressed us as Akshat and Guddan. The show has a unique story of a young and cheerful girl who gets married to an elder man and becomes the youngest mother-in-law. The chemistry and adorable love story of Akshat and Guddan have been loved by the audience. However, due to the lockdown, we have seen many of the television shows have been pulled off and many are taking a leap. It was earlier reported that Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega will be taking a leap and Nishant Malkani won't be a part of it. Now, in an interview with Spotboye, Nishant Malkani spoke about the same. He was asked when was the decision taken and why was he not retained in the show.

Nishant Malkani aka Akshat Jindal said, "Since a long time the makers were planning to change the story of the show. And now I think they have finally decided to go for a leap after which I will not be part of the show. Because post leap they will be showing a story of young girl who is supposedly Guddan and my daughter. Since Kanika will be playing the daughter's role as well, it makes sense for her but doesn't leave much scope for me. I won't be able to play a 50-year-old father and they also don't want me to play that at this age. So it's a mutual decision." He was also asked whether producer Ved Raj's decision about leap had nothing to do with the lockdown. He said, "Yes, he is right the discussions were on before the lockdown. It is for the good of the show, so, I completely support their decision." He was also asked if he was shocked about the decision and that his fans will miss him.

 

Nishant said, "I was always prepared for it. We had a very good run of one and half year and if the story is not picking up and if a fresh story needs fresh actors, then I am all for it. Its time for a new page. Audience will get to see me post lockdown as I will shoot a few episodes where they will show some celebration on the birth of my daughter. And that's how journey of a new story will start as she will be shown all grown up."
