Salman Khan's caravan Being Haangryy provides essentials to needy people of Mumbai

As you might be aware, Salman Khan is currently stranded in his Panvel farmhouse along with his family and friends. Despite that, he's trying his best to do charity. As per a mid-day report, he has now kickstarted a food donation drive in Mumbai. Named Being Haangryy, it has food trucks doing the rounds of western suburbs and distributing essentials to the needy.

A close hand told mid-day, "The food trucks were an initiative of Salman's not-for-profit organisation Being Human and initially kept on the set of Radhe to provide free meals to the crew. Since the suspension of shoots in mid-March, the trucks have been lying unused. When it struck Salman that they can be used for a greater cause, he promptly contacted Yuva Sena leader Rahul N Kanal to implement the idea."

The source added, "They try to reach 1,000 families every day. Every kit contains three kilos each of rice and wheat flour, two kilos of dal, one litre oil, spices and salt. All safety norms are followed while distributing the rations."

These are testing times as COVID-19 continues to spread in many parts of India. There are many labourers who have lost their livelihood as many industries are shut due to the lockdown.

The actor recently posted a video from his farmhouse in which he along with many others are seen arranging food for the needy.

On the work front, it is believed that Salman has been approached by the makers of Chiranjeevi starrer Acharya. As per the latest reports, Salman Khan has been approached by the makers to do a special role in the film, which is the remake of Malayalam hit Lucifer. Apparently, the producers want Salman Khan to play Prithviraj's role of the Malayalam version and if the Sultan star gives a nod, this collaboration will surely break all the records at the box office.
