Sourabh Raaj Jain on playing Lord Krishna in Mahabharat: It really changed a lot of aspects for me in my career

Arun Govil's Ramayan and Nitish Bharadwaj's Mahabharat have become the most watched shows. Shaheer Sheikh and Sourabh Raaj Jain's Mahabharat is also been rerun on television and has been loved by the audience. The actors of these shows have been receiving popularity again. People from all generations are loving these mythological shows. Sourabh Raaj Jain has been in a number mythological shows and is known for playing Lord Krishna in Mahabharat. In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, he revealed that there was a time when he only did mythological shows. He said, "There was a period in my life where I was getting quite a few mytho show offers. So, I only did take up the ones that suited me best during that time."

He spoke about the successful rerun of Mahabharat and said, "There are honestly no demerits of signing oin such a role. In fact the role helped enhance much in my career and acting skills. The role was quite a game changer for me back then. And moreover, I feel that signing on to any kind of role that I have till now, has been a great learning experience and helped me bring something new to the table each time. It honestly feels overwhelming that people still refer to me as Lord Krishna. Portraying the role really changed a lot of aspects for me in my career and opened up a lot of doors and opportunities for me, and also gave me a chance to play such a beautiful character on screen which will forever be my favourite." He was also asked if performing the same roles make it difficult for an actor to break the mould restricting his/her creativity. He said, "No, I don't think that there is any restriction in creativity in such situations. As every role, be it in the mytho space or any other genre is distinctively different from the other, even if the beat is the same. Each character, be it in the same genre, has different characteristics and personality traits from the other, so that itself enhances a creative aspect of its own for the actor to portray on screen."

 

Sourabh Raaj Jain made his debut with Remix in 2004. He was then seen in may other shows like Devon Ke Dev Mahadev, Uttaran, Mahabharat, Chandragupta Maurya and Mahakali Anth hi Aarambh hai. He was recently seen in Patiala Babes with Ashnoor Kaur.
