Throwback Thursday: When Bhagyashree WARNED Salman Khan to stay away to avoid link-up stories on the sets of Maine Pyar Kiya

Salman Khan and Bhagyashree starrer Maine Pyar Kiya is one of the most loved romantic films of Bollywood. Apart from the songs and plot, the audience loved the mesmerising chemistry between the lead stars, who made the characters of Prem and Suman iconic among cine-goers. While we still watch this movie, whenever it comes on the television, you will be amazed to know that Bhagyashree had actually warned Salman Khan to stay away to avoid link-up on stories the sets of the film.

In an interview with TOI in 2017, the actress recalled the funny incident and said, "They (Salman and Himalaya) have met only once after that. Salman was the first to know about my relationship with Himalaya during the shoot of the song, Dil Deewana. He would follow me around and hum the song in my ear. I kept warning him that people will start talking about us. After irritating me for half-a-day, he said that he knew about Himalaya. He even suggested that I call Himalaya to the location. They were cordial when they met."

She added, "My husband (Himalaya) was possessive and he wasn't comfortable seeing me romancing other men on screen. In fact, my in-laws are more comfortable and cool about me acting than him." Bhagyashree's son Abhimanyu Dassani made his Bollywood debut with Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota for which he bagged Filmfare Best Debut Award. The actor shared an interesting trivia about Maine Pyar Kiya while having an Insta live chat with us. He said, "Well...now that you mention it (his fondest memory from my mother's films or something that had transpired behind the scenes), there's this one memory I clearly have from Maine Pyar Kiya. Nobody knows this, but Sooraj Barjatya, the director, had actually pursued my mother for over a month before she had said, 'Yes,' to the film. That was really something and it's something I vividly look back at to this day. I just wish that one day I'd be fortunate or privileged enough to have a filmmaker pursue me like that for a role. That'd be a really nice feeling."
