Throwback Thursday: When Sushant Singh Rajput spoke about 'NEPOTISM' at an award show

Sushant Singh Rajput's tragic demise has triggered the topic of depression along with the long-going debate of 'nepotism' in Bollywood. Unlike many stars, SSR made his way to the entertainment industry without any godfather or mentor and won our hearts with his memorable performances. Talking about nepotism, the actor had shared his opinion a few years ago at an award show, where he had said, "Nepotism is there, it's everywhere, not just in Bollywood. You can't do anything about it. Nepotism can co-exist and nothing would happen but at the same time, if you deliberately don't allow the right talent to come up, then there is a problem. Then the whole structure of the industry would collapse one day. But till then, it's fine."

He added, "Nepotism can co-exist with all the talented people also and you will get wonderful films because then they will be competing with each other and that would raise the performance." We must say that the actor had a fair opinion and we can completely agree with that.

The police investigation of Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide case is underway and they have already summoned 10 people close to the actor, including family members, house helps and friends. Filmmaker and SSR's close friend Mukesh Chhabra told police officials that the actor was intelligent and an introvert and the filmmaker had no idea about his professional rivalry with production houses. "He was a very intelligent actor who didn't like talking over phone. Most of the times when we called him he used to disconnect the calls. He loved playing games on his Playstation and loved reading books, especially on quantum of physics", said Chhabra. Police have also recovered 5 diaries at his Bandra, Mumbai apartment and will go through their contents.
