#BLBestOf6: Tanhaji's Ajay Devgn, Gulabo Sitabo's Amitabh Bachchan, Angrezi Medium's Irrfan Khan — vote for the Best Bollywood Actor in the first half of 2020

This hasn't been a great year for Bollywood news owing to the coronavirus pandemic, followed by lockdown, which has shut cinema halls across the country, subsequently stalling all film releases that were lined up during this period. However, we did see some movies releasing before everything went sideways, and post lockdown, some Hindi films have opted to go straight to OTT. Sadly, beside Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior and Malang no films has managed click with the audience, not even on OTT, which only Thappad and Panga can be added to the list when to comes to critical appreciation. Anyway, we are here today to talk about the best actors (male) in the first six months of 2020 as part of our #BLBestOf6 event, and have shortlisted six names that truly left a mark regardless the fortunes of their films. It's your job to vote and tell us who among these six is the Best Bollywood Actor in the first half of 2020.

(Note: We've included those performances that were a part of films, which were initially supposed to release in theatres, but later opted for OTT platforms.)

1.) Ajay Devgn Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior

The highest grosser and only blockbuster this year also features one of the most intense performances of 2020 by the veteran superstar, Ajay Devgn.

2.) Irrfan Khan Angrezi Medium

It's no surprise that before biding us a permanent farewell, Irrfan Khan delivered one, last great performance. Unfortunately, Angrezi Medium didn't turn out to be the swansong his portrayal or stature deserved.

3.) Amitabh Bachchan Gulabo Sitabo

If you want to see how a strictly average is made watchable, then pay close attention to how Amitabh Bachchan rises leaps and bounds above the shortcomings of the script in Gulabo Sitabo, carrying the film across his drooping shoulders.

4.) Saif Ali Khan Jawaani Jaaneman

Saif Ali Khan delivered two magnificent acts this year one in Tanhaji, and the other in Jawaani Jaaneman, but since the latter sees him in a lead role, we've nominated it.

5.) Kartik Aaryan Love Aaj Kal

As bad as Love Aaj Kal was in almost every aspect, Kartik Aaryan made a fist of it, and showed us all that he's so much more than a leading funnyman.

6.) Ayushmann Khurrana Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhaan

Ayushmaan Khurrana delivered another of his quirky social dramedies, and though this was a far cry from his earlier similar outings like Vicky Donor, Badhaai Ho and Bala, his performance was as good as it has always been of late.
