Tuesday Trivia: Did you know THIS Bollywood actor and not Sathyaraj was the first choice for Kattappa in Baahubali?

Well, SS Rajamouli's Baahubali franchise is one of the game-changers in the history of Indian cinema. While it paved the way of South Indian films to the entire country, each and every character of the film got immortalised among the audience. Prabhas aka Baahubali became a pan-India star, viewers loved mighty Bhallaldheva aka Rana Daggubati, fierce Devasena aka Anushka Shetty, fearless Avanthika aka Tamannaah, Royal Sivagami aka Ramya Krishnan and loyal Kattappa aka Sathyaraj.

While it's a known fact that while the period action-drama was written keeping Prabhas in mind, makers wanted a Hollywood actor for Bhallaldheva and had approached Sridevi for the character of Sivagami. But very few know that Sathyaraj was not the first choice for the role of Kattappa. Recently, SS Rajamouli's father and writer of the film has revealed that Sanjay Dutt was the first choice for Kattappa but since he was serving his jail term, the team opted for another options and Sathyaraj came on board. Well, it would have been interesting to see Sanjay Dutt aka Baba as the loyal warrior of Mahishmati, wouldn't it?

Meanwhile, SS Rajamoumi is currently busy with RRR, which features Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt in pivotal roles. The film was scheduled to release in January 2021 but due to the pandemic situation, the film has got delayed at the box office. The magnum opus has already started setting benchmarks as it broke the pre-release business of India's biggest blockbuster, Baahubali 2 by a huge margin. All the rights of the film have been bought at record prices and reports suggest that it has already earned over Rs. 400 crore from South India and overseas markets alone.
