WTF Wednesday: Meera Mitun alleging that Trisha Krishnan morphed her pics proves that imitation might not be the best form of flattery
Rivalries are not uncommon in showbiz, or any industry for that matter. In the past, we have heard of cold vibes and cat fights amongst costars/rivals, but social media has given a different dimension to these things. Some days ago, Tamil actress Meera Mitun made us all sit up when she hit out at veteran actress Trisha Krishnan for morphing her pictures to look like more like the former. The statement itself left us confused. Like, we know of beauty filters and all that jazz on Snapchat and Instagram, but the fact that a well-known celebrity like Trisha would morph her own pictures is kind of surprising, if not hilarious. We know that the lockdown has given people a lots of free time to explore new skills, but morphing, like seriously? It is also funny to see that someone kept a note of it, and we wonder why? To see if the right contrast and brightness was used perhaps; we can't imagine any other reason.
And didn't someone say that imitation is the best form of flattery? So, what made Meera Mitun so furious? The ladies do have a bit of history if reports are to be believed. It seems Trisha Krishnan had replaced Meera Mitun in Karthik Subbaraj's Petta. If the outrage is remotely linked to that grievance, then there are better ways to vent it out. Morphing is a serious allegation. It is something that has caused immense stress to many celebs and people in general. It is illegal, period! To use it so casually in an online war is not cool at all. Honestly, we still do not understand what could have made Meera so furious? Trisha Krishnan might have just been playing with some filters, which led to a slight resemblance between the two ladies.
Social media has so much fun with doppelgangers. The whole thing could have been entertaining if Trisha indeed looked like Meera. But that is not to be. Meera Mitun, you're a bonafide stunner, but lady, do not get riled over such trivial things. So many actresses have lookalikes who appear unbelievably identical. No one blames their parents for cloning, right?
