Akshay Kumar to donate Rs. 1 crore each to Assam and Bihar CM Relief Funds amidst ongoing floods

Akshay Kumar is one of the most charitable human beings we have seen in the current times. Back when the pandemic hat hit India, the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi had asked people for help in whatever way they could donate. Akshay Kumar was one of the first to come forward and pledge his support in the trying times. The actor liquidated a whopping Rs 25 crore to PM's CARES Fund in one go. He also donated to CMs relief fund as well. And now, despite not being in the country (the actor flew to UK for Bell Bottom shoot), Akshay Kumar is not unaware of the ongoing floods in Assam and Bihar. He has once again decided to help the people in their trying times.

The Good Newwz actor will be donating Rs 1 crore each to the government of Bihar and Assam. "On Thursday, Akshay Kumar spoke to CMs of Bihar and Assam and pledged a sum of rupees one crore each at a time when these areas are affected by the natural calamity. Both the Chief Ministers have expressed gratitude and appreciated his gesture that amid so much negativity all around, he could think of the betterment of these states," a source told Hindustan Times.

Last year in March when Cyclone Fani had hit Orissa, he had donated Rs 1 crore to the relief fund to help them recover. Later in July, when Assam was flooded he donated the same amount to overcome the crisis and for Kaziranga Park rescue. He had also donated funds to rehabilitate 25 families from Bihar who struggled during their floods in October last year. He had also donated a heavy amount during the Kerela floods in 2018.

Truly, Akshay Kumar is not only a hero on the screen but off-screen as well. His contribution to society is inspiring. The actor is the only Indian actor to have featured in Forbes' highest-paid actor's list this year. He was placed 6th on the list beating Will Smith and Jackie Chan.
