#CBIEnquiryforSridevi: Netizens demand probe into the veteran actress's accidental drowning case in Dubai

Sushant Singh Rajput's demise has led to a furore wherein the masses who adored and admired the actor are demanding a CBI probe into his mysterious and alleged suicide case. His family has filed an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty and others for alleged money laundering and abetment to suicide. While ED is investigating the same, as per the reports CBI will interrogate five key witnesses who were either present at the actor's flat or reached there after hearing the news of his demise. And now, netizens who demanded a CBI probe has now demanded CBI inquiry into late veteran actress Sridevi's death.

Yes, two years after Sridevi's demise, once again a CBI probe has been sought by some fans of the actress. On February 25th, 2018, Sridevi's death news shocked everyone in the country and across the globe. She along with her whole family were in Dubai to attend her nephew, Mohit Marwah's wedding with Antara Motiwala. She and her producer-husband, Boney Kapoor had stayed back in Dubai after the wedding. A day or so after the wedding, the news of her accidental drowning broke out.

At that time, the officials from Dubai had investigated the case and the forensic reports did not found any foul play. It was stated that she died of accidental drowning. Back then, BJP MP Subramanian Swamy had alleged that it was a murder. Netizens have stormed Twitter with the hashtag CBIEnquiryforSridevi demanding a probe into the actress's death.

Some of the social media users also came up with their own theories. "#CBIEnquiryForSridevi According to a news agency, Singh's lawyer senior advocate Vikas Singh argued before the court that an insurance policy worth Rs 240 crore in was brought in Sridevi's name in Oman and could be encashed only if the actor died in Dubai," one social media user wrote. "Every one knows that sridevi was murdered by drowning in bath tub. How will one drown in bath tub 2 feet deep even if they are drunk. High level murders cannot be brought under light. #CBIEnquiryForSridevi," another user wrote. Have a look at their tweets here:
