Filmy Friday: Rs 950 crore! That's the insane amount riding on Prabhas' next three lavish projects

Post the humongous success of Baahubali franchise, Prabhas emerged as the first pan-India star of the entertainment industry, who garnered a huge fan base even in the North. Post that, the actor was seen in another multi-lingual expensive film Saaho, which turned out to be a money-spinner despite getting negative reviews from the critics. In the span of just one year, the handsome hunk has signed three projects and all these are mega-budget ventures as the cumulative total of them is around Rs 950 crore and that just shows the producers' trust on Prabhas' box office pull and huge fandom. All three films will be released in multiple languages due to the popularity of Prabhas across the country. So, let's check out these ventures...

Radhe Shyam (Budget Rs 300 crore)

The first look of the film was recently revealed and it became the top trend worldwide. The period drama love story, which is set in the 1970s, is shot in Europe. Directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, the film also features Pooja Hegde, Sachin Khedekar, Murli Sharma, Bhagyashree, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Sasha Chhetri along with Sathyan and Priyadarshi in pivotal roles.

Prabhas 21 (Rs 400 crore)

The sci-fi thriller, which is reportedly based on the subject time-travel, will be directed by Mahanati helmer Nag Ashwin. The film will feature Deepika Padukone opposite Prabhas and produced by Vaijayanti Productions. During the media interaction, producer Ashwini Dutt said, "Nag Ashwin's story surprised me. He came up with a universally acceptable story for Baahubali and Saaho star Prabhas. The project requires hundreds of cr of budget. Only Prabhas has the ability to pull off such a massive project."

Adipurush (Rs 250 crore)

A few days ago, Tanhaji director Om Raut announced his next venture with Prabhas titled Adipurush, which is expected to be his dream project. The epic film, which is reported to be an adaptation of Ramayan, will be made in 3D. Talking about the project, Prabhas said in the statement: "Every role and every character comes with its own challenges, but portraying a character like this comes with tremendous responsibility and pride. I am very excited to portray this character from our epic specially the way Om has designed it. I am sure the youth of our country will shower all their love on our film." On the other hand, Om said, "I am grateful to Prabhas for accepting the part and my vision and Bhushan ji for his unconditional support to realise my dream project. We embark on this journey with tremendous passion and pride and promise our audience an experience like never before."
