Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt to collaborate with Karan Johar for a romance film before Takht?

Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh had collaborated for Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy last year. Their pairing is one of the most adored ones in the B-town. They were to reunite for Karan Johar's Takht and the prep for the same was about to begin when the coronavirus pandemic hit the country around March. Since then shootings had been stalled and everything across the globe had come to a standstill. Well, there's still no confirmation as to when Takht will go on floors despite the script being locked. But looks like Alia Bhatt's mentor, Karan Johar has found a romance story for her and Ranveer Singh next.

Breaking from his intense stories, Karan would be going back to his debut film days. A source close to the development of the same told Mumbai Mirror that Karan has narrated the story to both of them and that they have given their verbal nod to it. "Karan has been working on the script all through the lockdown and recently narrated it to both Ranveer and Alia. They loved it and have given their verbal nod to the film. It's a love story with a fun vibe. Karan will step away from his intense zone and go back to something along the lines of his debut film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai," the source said. They are planning to go on recce at the year-end.

Further, Takht has been delayed and not shelved. Once the situation returns to normalcy the makers are planning to resume the shoot with the same cast. "Takht will have to be mounted on a certain scale and needs several actors in the same frame all through the narrative, which won't be possible given the present social distancing guidelines. So, the project has been put on hold for now. The team will decide on the future course of action once the on-ground scenario gets back to normal," the source added.
