Rs 735 crore riding on Sanjay Dutt's films: Here's the status of KGF 2, Prithviraj, Shamshera and his other ventures

Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt recently got diagnosed with stage four lung cancer and reportedly will soon fly abroad for treatment. Just a day before the news of his lung cancer, Sanju announced on his social media that he is taking a break due to medical issues as he wrote, "Hi friends, I am taking a short break from work for some medical treatment. My family and friends are with me and I urge my well-wishers not to worry or unnecessarily speculate. With your love and good wishes, I will be back soon." While the actor will be gone for about 90 days for his treatment, he has multiple projects under his belt and an insane amount of Rs 735 crore is riding on them. So, let's check out the status of his ventures...

Sadak 2

Mahesh Bhatt's thriller, which also features Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Pooja Bhatt in prominent roles, is completed and ready to release on August 28 on Disney+ Hotstar.

Bhuj: The Pride Of India

The multi-starrer war drama, which has has ensemble cast of Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha, Nora Fatehi, Sharad Kelkar and others, is also completed and like Sadak 2, will release on Disney+ Hotstar. Though the release date has not been unveiled.

Torbaaz

This action thriller, which features Sanjay Dutt as an army officer, also stars Nargis Fakri and Rahul Dev in pivotal roles. The film is completed and will release on Netflix.

KGF 2

The highly anticipated KGF 2 features Sanjay Dutt as the lead antagonist Adheera. The executive producer of the film Karthik Gowda recently revealed that Sanju will shoot the remaining part after three months. Talking to E Times, he said, "Dutt will return after 3 months, once his treatment is over, to complete my film. His team spoke to me today," and added, "I spoke to Dutt two days back." Karthik also revealed that Sanjay's shooting is left. "About 3 days. And, those are extension scenes," he said.

Shamshera

Ranbir Kapoor and Vaani Kapoor's dacoit drama stars Sanjay Dutt as the main villain. Talking about its status, only 4 to 6 days' shoot is left with some patchwork.

Prithviraj

Only 40 per cent of the film has been shot of this period war drama, which also features Akshay Kumar, Sonu Sood and Manushi Chillar in key roles.
