Sadak 2: Team Kangana Ranaut targets Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor amidst nepotism backlash; say, 'Their time is up'

The ongoing backlash against the Sadak 2 trailer, most of which stems from the audience's perceived notion that Alia Bhatt and father Mahesh Bhatt, the film's Director, are in some way linked to Sushant Singh Rajput's case, and their bias against nepotism, has made it the most disliked trailer ever on YouTube. Never to lose an opportunity to target star kids or anyone for that matter, Kanagan Ranaut's team has now joined the bandwagon, targetting both Alia and her real-life boyfriend and fellow Bollywood star, Ranbir Kapoor.

Retweeting a video that criticised Alia Bhatt's acting in Sadak 2, Team Kangana Ranaut commented: "Somebody need to find R Balki he is hiding, he said there are no better actors than Ranbir and Alia. Sharm karlo, thodi sharm karlo, brainwashing ki bhi limit hoti hai (have some shame, there is a limit to brainwashing the public), both pappus are below average glorified by mafia media,their friends and fake awards, their time is up." In the initial tweet about Alia, the user had written: "Who wrote these dialogues and who told alia to make our ears bleed like that #Sadak2Trailer #Sadak2 ." Check out both tweets below:

Coming to why R. Balki's name was dragged into this controversy, it's because some time ago, the Director had nepotism, and Ranbir Kapoor and Alia in an interview to Times Now, where he had said, "The question is do they (star kids) have an unfair or bigger advantage? Yes, there are pros and cons. But I'd ask one simple question: Find me a better actor than Alia or Ranbir, and we'll argue. It's unfair on these few people who're probably some of the finest actors."

Sadak 2 is a sequel to the 1991 cult action film, Sadak, with Sanjay Dutt reprising his role, and Mahesh Bhatt returning to the Director's chair after 21 years. Beside Alia Bhatt, it also stars Aditya Roy Kapur, Makarand Deshpande, Gulshan Grover, Jisshu Sengupta, Priyanka Bose and Mohan Kapur. The film will premiere directly on Disney Hotstar on 28th August.
