Sanjay Dutt's Khalnayak costar Jackie Shroff calls him a phoenix, says, ' I am sure he is going to rise and shine'

Sanjay Dutt was recently diagnosed with lung cancer. The actor was supposed to fly to the USA for further treatment but now will be taking the treatment here in Mumbai for some time. He is now being treated at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. Sanjay Dutt's friend Jackie Shroff recently spoke about him in an interview with ETimes. He was asked whether he had reached out to Sanjay after hearing the unfortunate news. Jackie Shroff simply replied, "I sent him a text message. Sanju baba is like a phoenix. He has been through a lot of problems in his life and I am sure he is going to rise and shine through this too." Sanjay Dutt and Jackie Shroff have done a lot of films together like Mission Kashmir, Kartoos, Eklavya and Khalnayak.

Sanjay Dutt's wife Maanyata and his kids Iqra and Shahraan were in Dubai when he came to know of his ailment. Maanyata Dutt and kids returned to Mumbai last week. Earlier in a statement, Maanyata Dutt had said, ""I thank everyone who has expressed their well wishes for Sanju's speedy recovery. We need all the strength and prayers to overcome this phase. There is a lot that the family has gone through in the past years but I am confident, this too shall pass. However, it is my heartfelt request to Sanju's fans to not fall prey to speculations and unwarranted rumours, but to just help us with their ongoing love, warmth and support. Sanju has always been a fighter, and so has our family. God has yet again chosen to test us to overcome the challenges ahead."

On the work front, everyone was keen to see him as Adheera in KGF 2. The producers have confirmed that he will complete his portions once his treatment is over. We wish him a speedy recovery.
