After Rhea Chakraborty's 'no jurisdiction' appeal; NCB files affidavit in the Bombay High Court

The bail hearing of Rhea Chakraborty will come up in Bombay High Court on September 29. In her appeal, she has written that the Narcotics Control Bureau has no legal standing to investigate her in the drugs case, and it should be done by the CBI. They have requested that the case be handed over to the central investigating agency. Now, the NCB has filed an affidavit in the Bombay High Court saying that they indeed have a jurisdiction in the matter. They have said that the brother and sister duo of Rhea Chakraborty and Showik allegedly procured and made payment for drugs. One of their peddlers, Anuj Keshwani was found with a quantity of contraband of LSD.

They have said that Showik Chakraborty had active contacts with drug dealers and peddlers. Sameer Wankhede has said that both of them were actively involved. The affidavit reads, "Electronic evidence such as WhatsApp chats, records were retrieved from mobile, laptop and hard-disk and it indicated payment made for drugs. Thus, there is ample evidence to show present applicant Rhea has not only regularly dealt with but also financed illicit trafficking of drugs."

IRS officer Sameer Wankhede has filed the affidavit. It also reads, "It is clear from the statements and electronic evidence gathered by NCB that applicant is an active member of the drug syndicate connected with high society personalities and drug suppliers. There is sufficient evidence that she is involved in drug trafficking. The applicant used to facilitate drug deliveries and payment through credit cards/cash/payment gateways for the contraband." As per Rhea Chakraborty's statements, late Sushant Singh Rajput did not wish to leave any digital evidence behind.

On the other hand, reports are coming that makers want to cash in on the matter. As per Mumbai Mirror, a publishing house has approached Rhea Chakraborty to pen down a tell-all book. Some also want to make a biopic on her. Well, we to wait and see!
