Bunty Aur Babli 2: Saif Ali Khan-Rani Mukerji, Siddhant Chaturvedi-Sharvari Wagh wrap the con caper with a song shoot

Yash Raj Film Studios have been quite busy this week. They have quite a few films in the pipeline that are being shot as you read this. Recently, they wrapped up, Bunty aur Babli 2. The makers would have wrapped it up a long time ago had it not been for the pandemic that struck the country around March. The con caper which stars Rani Mukerji, Saif Ali Khan, Siddhanth Chaturvedi and Sharvari Wagh in the lead role was wrapped up with a song shoot.

Last week director Varun Sharma alongside his team of Bunty Aur Babli 2 resumed the stalled shoot. Apparently, only a song was left to wrap the film in March. The shooting took place by following the guidelines provided by the government and the medical authorities. The team took additional precautionary measures on the sets for the cast and crew. "The entire cast and crew underwent a COVID-19 test before the shoot. During the week of filming, the actors practised self-isolation at home. The crew was quarantined in a hotel, with the studio arranging their transportation to and from the hotel. The drivers were tested and quarantined with the crew as well," the director told Mid-Day.

Saif Ali Khan opened up on shooting after COVID-19 and in new normal saying, "These are highly sensitive times. Everyone on set has to be cautious because there is a risk element. I was amazed by the steps taken to ensure that we have a safe experience." Rani, on the other hand, exclaimed that they got rushes of their shooting diaries from Abu Dhabi. "It brought back so many memories of us filming before the pandemic."

"There was no better way than a fun song shoot to bring the house down with positivity and joy,"Sharvari Wagh said excitedly. She makes her Bollywood debut with the crime comedy film. "I'm glad we could have a safe shoot because of the steps adopted by the production house,' she added.

Bunty Aur Babli 2 was scheduled for a June 2020 release. It will be interesting to see whether the makers wait for the theaters to open again or go for an OTT release.
